Ashley is one of our founders, Chief Administrative Officer, and Specialized Learning Specialist. She enjoys spending time with her family, three dogs (Stella, Cole, and Charlotte) and shopping until her little heart is content. You can find her on the sidelines of her kid's games or serving at Pioneer Church. After homeschooling her two children for more than 5 years, she joined forces with her friend of 13 years, Laura to create Shiloh Community School.
Laura is one of our founders, as well as our High School Coordinator and Creative Curriculum Specialist. She is a mom to three boys, wife to a church planter, and loves to dream big. Her dream to start Shiloh Community School was birthed from her passion developed through college for education and after homeschooling her two oldest boys. Through the months of Covid, while families were challenging the way they saw their child's education, Laura heard those families and felt a big push from the community encouraging her to open Shiloh Community School. Classical education and cultivating curious learners is her heart. Outside of school, you'll usually find her curled up with a podcast, sipping a creamy cup of coffee, watching a British series, cheering her boys on in baseball and karate or serving at Pioneer Church.
Amy Wilson is our fantastic Kindergarten teacher. She is a ray of sunshine and is probably one of the kindest souls you'll ever meet. As a home-grown Stoneville girl, Amy met and married her husband, Doug of 24 years and moved to Madison. Together, they have 3 children, Max, Emma and Maddie, who she had the privilege of homeschooling from beginning to end. She attends Freedom Baptist in Rural Hall and enjoys serving there. In addition to spending time with her family and serving at her church, she loves cooking and taking care of their many farm animals. We are so grateful for the passions and gifts that Amy will bring to our team this year!
Mandy Rowland joins us, as our 1st grade teacher. She's a wife to Dwayne, mom to Logan, and dog mom to Bailey and Cooper. She graduated from East Carolina University and went straight to doing what she loves-teaching! Mandy has a true passion for making teaching fun. After graduating from East Carolina University, she took a position teaching Kindergarten in our local public schools. She is very passionate about serving her community and holds a seat on the Board of her local fire department. During summer break you will find her camping with her family and spending lots of time in the Boone, NC area. On weekends, you will find her playing games with her family, walking her dogs on local trails, and spending time with her friends. She is very excited to be a part of the SCS family!
Danielle joins us as our 2nd grade teacher. She and her husband, Jeremy are parents to four terrific children. It has been her privilege to be engaged in Christian School ministry through classrooms, homeschool, and Sunday schools all of her adult life. It is a passion of hers to discover and meet the needs of students and prepare them with the tools needed to grow into their fullest potential. Her goal is to create a fair and loving environment so students can thrive with the talents God has blessed them. Danielle said, “Communication is the key to working together effectively and I look forward to partnering with SCS families for the student’s good and God’s glory.” We are thrilled to have her using her God-given gifts at Shiloh Community this year.
Ms. Joyner is no stranger to Madison—she’s lived here her whole life and is excited to now serve her hometown in such a meaningful way.
She brings with her a heart for teaching, a love for children, and a deep desire to be a Godly influence in the lives of her students. Sydney graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2023, and we know God has beautifully orchestrated her path to bring her to Shiloh!
When she’s not in the classroom, you’ll likely find her enjoying a good movie, working on a diamond painting, or spending time with her family and her fiancé, Roman. We can’t wait to see how God uses her in the lives of our students and families.
Heather Belton comes to Shiloh Community School as our Middle School English and Math teacher. She's a wife to Eric, a mom to Isaac, volunteer at LOT 2540, and lover of Classical Education. Heather homeschooled her son for 7 years, who now attends GTCC, and was a Director for Classical Conversations. It was there that she found a passion for elevating the everyday parts of education to show them how God is woven through it. She and her family recently gutted and restored a 1960 GM4104 Bus to an RV, so they can travel the US. It's her desire for every child to learn to love learning and to create a wholesome environment to cultivate rich relationships with her students to prepare them for life outside the walls of Shiloh Community School. Heather is a valuable asset to our school family and your kids will appreciate her talents for years to come after leaving her classroom.
Kara is our Art Teacher for all grades. She is a mom of two boys, wife and dog mom to Dolly. Finding a way to be creative is no problem for Kara. She is constantly making, painting, or constructing something interesting for herself or others. She's not afraid to let the kids use different mediums and is such a talented teacher that brings out the best in our students.
Carmela, also known as "Carmy" is our Music Teacher. After attending Bridgewater College, she became a dedicated wife and mother to two adult children. Carmy was a voice and piano instructor for many years. Her children, who are now a physical therapist and speech pathologist were homeschooled. Outside of school, Carmy can be found serving at church, traveling with her husband and visiting her children.
TJ has joined the SCS family, as the Bible teacher. He is Laura's husband and also the full-time pastor of Pioneer Church. As a graduate of Liberty University, in Religious Studies, TJ was called to ministry and the calling was nothing short of God's grace. TJ has a passion for making God's Word real and relatable for the next generation. It's our hope that he can help fuel the mind of each child who attends SCS with the knowledge and understanding of the Word, so that they can come to know and love Jesus. If TJ isn't preaching, you can find him coaching his son's baseball team, fishing, reading, or serving someone in the community. Your kids will love TJ's fun and engaging personality.
Violet is our Main Office Assistant, but more than that, she is our one-of-a-kind, fill in the gaps, anywhere you need her support staff member. She brings joy to everyone who enters the doors of Shiloh Community School by how she greets everyone each morning. If there is a need, it's usually filled by Violet. Day in and day out, we see the footprints of God by how well Violets serves the students and staff of SCS.
